The first woman to head the National Institutes of Health was Bernadine Healy. She used to have a sign on her desk that read “STRONG VERBS. SHORT SENTENCES.”
I love that. Translate it to visual terms, and that describes my aspirations for my paintings.
My favorite medium is oil sticks. Oil and cold wax is a fabulous combination for layering, creating interesting surfaces, and trying innovative techniques.
